Artistic Statement

I live in Morpeth and have recently taken up a long held interest in wood sculpture. I acquired a substantial amount of ancient bog weed from Ireland and so took the opportunity to experiment with it. I try to leave the natural shape of the wood as complete a possible, removing rotten or unworkable bits and hopefully achieving an interesting piece of art.
I have always been interested in working with wood and have spent many hours restoring neglected items of furniture. I have also completed a course in stained glass and I’m keen to incorporate this medium into my future projects
