Artistic Statement

Originally a professional engineering draughtsman I decided to reinforce my interest in artistic activities by taking a Foundation degree in Fine Art Practice and graduated with distinction.

Although I work in many mediums on a variety of subjects it is the natural world surrounding us that inspires me the most. Its incredible range from grandeur to the smallest intricate feature beckons to be translated into artistic works. Again the form of this translation an be realistic or abstract being either 2 or 3 dimensional.

The challenge in selecting mediums, the appliation of varied techniques and format of presentation in creating a result that reflects an emotional response is to me both fulfilling and enjoyable.
