Exhibition space to hire for temporary exhibitions

We are offering temporary exhibition space in the gallery. The temporary space will consist of up to 30m square hanging space downstairs and 25m square hanging space upstairs on screens in the central areas of each room. These rooms can be viewed on the Tower House Gallery Facebook page, showing how a previous temporary exhibition for a local school was displayed. The screens available are white rather than the dark screens shown in the pictures. There will also be display cabinets for 3D work available. The temp. space will have a daily rate rather than sale or return basis and no commission rates. The pricing for hire of the display areas will be:

Downstairs room for 4 days: £120
Downstairs room for 8 days: £200
Downstairs room for 12 days: £260
Downstairs room for 16 days: £300

Downstairs and upstairs room for 4 days: £180
Downstairs and upstairs room for 8 days: £280
Downstairs and upstairs room for 12 days: £360
Downstairs and upstairs room for 16 days: £420

For public bodies such as schools the fees will be halved.

As the gallery is open 4 days a week this is the easiest way to display the prices. There will be staff available in the gallery during opening hours. The selection of exhibitors and availability are at the discretion of the gallery.

If any of the work is seen to be appropriate for the gallery on a regular basis then the exhibitor will be offered a sale or return space in the gallery for these pieces once there is exhibition space available.

The temporary space will be available from 6th July onwards. The gallery does its own promotion online and in various magazines and can promote temporary exhibitions. The exhibitors are encouraged to do their own promotion also as it all helps. If the exhibitor would like to hold an opening evening or event this can be arranged with the gallery. Costing of an event will depend upon the facilities needed.

Spring has arrived from Seaton Sluice First School

The Spring pictures from the 5 to 7 year olds from Seaton Sluice First School are now on display in the gallery replacing their Winter pictures. An impressive display with uplifting colours. The exhibition will finish at the end of March.

Open Day Event

We hope you will enjoy the free music, nibbles and wine at the Open Day event we will have on Sunday 9th April between 12 noon and 4pm. The guitarist, Giles Strong, and harpist, Janet Bennett, will play classical, blues and requests. For anyone who has not seen a harp being played close up it is a pleasant experience. The gallery will be open its usual hours between 11am and 4.30pm.

Open day on Sunday 9th April

There will be an Open Day on Sunday 9th April from 12 until 4pm with free wine and nibbles and music so that everyone can enjoy the new influx of art work at the end of March and regular artists’ work at the gallery.

Seaton Sluice First School

Seaton Sluice First School is doing a month long exhibition of their art work in February. Their first exhibition is of “Winter” and “Spring” will follow shortly. The children are very proud of their work being in a gallery. These 4 to 9 year olds have produced some lovely work and we would like to thank their teachers for their effort in setting up the exhibitions.
When “Spring” has sprung it can be viewed in the gallery through March also. Have a look on Facebook to see when the pictures are on display.

Rosanna Henderson

Rosanna is a mosaic artist based in London and spends some of her time in Seaton Sluice. We hope you will enjoy the vibrant colours of her designs. Follow Rosanna on Facebook to see what she is currently doing.

Open evening or afternoon planned for later in the spring.

We will have an open event one evening or afternoon (the latter on a Sunday) depending on which is most convenient for everyone later in the spring to show new work in the gallery. As proprietor and artist I will be including more of my own work. There will be drinks, nibbles and a bit of entertainment thrown in.

Christmas at Tower House Gallery

I’d like to wish all our artists and visitors to the gallery a Merry Christmas.

We will be closed on Christmas Day and re-open on Boxing Day 11.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
