Artistic Statement

I have spent many years filling sketch books with details of the world around me. The entangled tapestry of the undergrowth as it undergoes its seasonal transformation is a continuous source of inspiration.

Developing compositions that are inspired by my observations is a key factor in much of my work.

I feel compelled to utilize my studies into decorative/graphic forms, finding black and white in particular a good medium for revealing the shape and form of structures that can be lost in a sea of  green.

Thoughout my career as a Desiger/Ilustrator I have undertaken commissions for publication and designed exhibitions interpreting a variety of heritage subjects.

Creating images that have a bold narrative content inspired by literature content inspired by literature, mythology and historic events is a particular pleasure.
