Artistic Statement

Carolyn's unique sculptures are hand built in porcelain and stoneware clays using slab and coil and pinch methods of construction. Often her multi-glazed work incorporates crushed glass, gold leaf or copper wire to create an opulent finish.

Carolyn exhibits throughout the UK and her work features in private collections in Australia, the Channel Islands, France,  Holland, Spain and Sweden.

Her work varies in theme. Some of her work is influenced for instance by industrial Steampunk and other work by mythological goddesses or a mixture of both. It is how she relates these themes to modern life that adds interesting twists. Combined with the use of found objects, rich glazing and raku sheens her work has a contemporary style that is eye-catching and thought-provoking.
